  About Us

THINK is a confederation of families involved in home schooling in the northern counties of Kentucky. Although it is a Christian organization, THINK invites anyone who has a sincere interest in home schooling to be a part of the group.

THINK publishes a newsletter, coordinates support meetings, maintains a contact list and a resource library and does a few other things for its affiliated families. The primary purpose of these services is to give home schooling families access to other home schooling families in our area so that we can share ideas and resources, and generally lend one another moral support.

Meet the Board of Advisors:

THINK is an organization whose strength is in its members. There are many families in THINK who work to make THINK what it is. Because of them we are able to have events like our bees, fairs, books sale, field trips, and so forth.

But in order for all these things to be coordinated and for THINK to be organized and have direction there are a few families that need to make a little extra commitment. Those families together make-up the Board of Advisors. Currently, we have four families serving on the board:

Jeff and Cherie Foss

Jeff and Cherie Foss who have been married since 1986 have five children ages 4 to 17 years. They have homeschooled for 12 years and use a variety of curriculums in their homeschool. They especially like to use a literature approach and encourage their children to read a wide variety of books on topics related to their studies.

Jeff and Cherie who serve as the Chair Family, have always had a desire to help and encourage other homeschooling families. They are eager to see a sense of community in northern Kentucky where homeschoolers can come together to find the support and information that they need as they seek to homeschool their own children.

Jeff and Beth Sewell

Jeff and Beth Sewell have been residents of Kenton County for 12 years.  They have renovated 2 homes in Covington and currently reside in a 113 year old home in Wallace Woods (Covington). Jeff is employed as an Enterprise Architect for The Kroger Company.

In addition to serving on the THINK Board of Directors, Jeff serves on the Board of Directors of a Covington Nursing Care Facility (Rosedale Manor) and the Wallace Woods Neighborhood Association Board of Directors.  Jeff loves off-road motorcycling, running, and movies.  Beth is a homemaker and home educates their two children Gabrielle(8)and Joshua(5).  Beth serves on Kenton County Republican Executive Committee.  She is currently a candidate for Kenton County Commissioner.  She enjoys reading biographies and political history, playing the flute, biking and spending time with
her family and friends.   The Sewells are members of Calvary Baptist Church and the Wallace Woods
Neighborhood Association.

The Sewells have been members of THINK for 4 years.  Jeff chaired the THINK Science Fair in 2009 and will again in 2010.

Brad and Christina Ellzey

Brad and Christina Ellzey married in 1995, and have 3 children ranging in age from 8-13. They are entering their 4th year of home schooling, and have used a wide variety of curriculum. They currently use Math-U-See, Apologia, Analytical Grammar, Mystery of History and Story of the World, and a variety of reading and writing programs.

Brad and Christina hope to assist new home schoolers with the transition from public or private schools to home, as well as those just beginning their schooling. They also hope to build a network for home schoolers in Northern Kentucky that can be used by all for field trips, fairs, camaraderie, and information on homeschooling in this area. They also are eager to continue the work, done by the Grace of God, that THINK has done over the years to encourage all home schoolers to raise Godly children.

Steve and Betsy Stockman

Steve and Betsy Stockman have been married since 1995 and have 4 children, aged 2 weeks to 12 years old.  They are members of Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia and are actively involved in ministry there.  Steve works for Multi-Color Corp. in Shipping and Logistics.  He enjoys being a high school soccer referee as well as playing french horn.  Betsy is a homemaker and musician and enjoys reading in her spare time.
The Stockmans are in their 5th year of homeschooling, and 4th year of THINK membership.  They read to their children daily and encourage outside reading to enhance school topics and make the material meaningful.  Currently,  they use My Father's World as the foundation of their school studies.

Steve and Betsy want to encourage and support families in their homeschool journey; whether contemplating homeschooling, or are veterans seeking  more opportunities for their children.

Chris and Carol Wallace

Chris and Carol Wallace have been married since 1995.  They have 2 girls, Catherine and Caroline, who are home schooled using various curriculum.  Carol has a degree in education from Northern Kentucky University, while Chris has a degree in accounting from NKU as well.  Chris and Carol are active members in their church, Crosspointe Baptist Church, with Carol teaching in AWANA and Chris involved in the music ministry.  They have also opened their home to children in need as foster parents for the state of Kentucky.

Chris and Carol hope to bring the home school families into a closer community through activities offered throughout the year.  They are also wanting to be a source of encouragement to any family in the group, and to be a testimony for those who are interested in schooling their children at home.
