Dear THINK Friends,
Home Education in the Sewell Household has happened in so many ways in 2012. If your family is like ours, you spend an equal amount of time outside the “3 R” curriculum teaching and training your children in the way that they should go. Some of the areas of training that was tackled in our home this year was learning how to be good sports, how to participate in a classroom discussion, how to be humble when you are not chosen to lead or when you are overlooked, how to be a friend if you want a friend, and how to express forgiveness (just to mention a few!)
Although it appears only our children learned these new disciplines, God equally matured us as parents and as people when we had to teach our little ones how to rise to these sometimes very difficult occasions. For our home, discipling our children moment by moment reminds us our imperfection and need for God’s grace and strength. May you find as much of both of these that you require this year as you endeavor to carry out another year of home education.

THINK field day is POSTPONED!
The Field Day has been postponed to next Friday, May 17, at 10AM, Walton Park. The field was too wet this morning as it took more rain during the night.
If you registered your children for today and cannot make it next Friday, please let us know via email. If you couldn't make it today but can join us next Friday, please register your children via email. We need an accurate head-count.

LEGO Robotics Class Starting March 15
THINK Offers Lego Robotics Class
Starting this Friday, March 15, Teaching Homes in Northern Kentucky will offer an 8-week Lego Robotics Class at the Kenton County Library (Erlanger Branch, Kenton Lands Road) from 2:30-4:00 pm. Children from the age of 8-18 are encouraged to participate. The class is limited to 10 students, so please register by going to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Please email us your child’s name and age. The cost of the class will be $40/child. Payment may be made at the first class, and checks should be made payable to THINK.
Our instructor is Christian Schmidt. He lives in Northern Kentucky and is the recent proud father of a baby boy. Christian has been teaching art to young people for many years. He spent over a decade at The Baker Hunt in Covington and currently is an adjunct professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. One of his favorite pass times is building robots. “Mr. Christian helped me build a 24 inch robot out of cardboard last winter and he sits in my room and is my night light,” commented Joshua, 8, one of his students.
The children will be working with two Lego sets and will have a book to use for instruction. The Kenton County Library generously donated one of the sets. This contribution has allowed THINK to reduce the cost to families. THINK will use your investment to pay the instructor for his time and to cover cost of other the other kit and materials.
THINK wishes to thank the Kenton County Library for partnering with us on this first, but hopefully not last robotics class, and for the homeschool families who support our organization so that we can continue to offer programs like this. Look for pictures of our final products at the end of May!
